History:

DOCUgroup was founded in 2001 as a collaborative venture between the Swiss DOCU AG, Baumarktforschung Deutschland GmbH and the Swedish company Citymark AB. Since 2004, the DOCUgroup belongs to GMT Communications Partners (GMT), one of the leading private equity investor groups, specialised in the European media sector. Since then the group has experienced continual, organic growth. DOCU AIS GmbH (Architects-Informations-System), DBI GmbH (Deutscher Baustelleninformationsdienst), infoBau Münster GmbH and Canis GmbH were also acquired together with their online portal webvergabe.de.
With the acquisition of Springer BauMedien in 2007, DOCUgroup with BauMedien GmbH Heinze, ibau and Stiller Informationsmarketing, the construction industry publishers Bauverlag BV GmbH and Baunetz Online-Dienst GmbH & Co. KG has become the market leader for construction industry information services in Germany. The acquisition of Springer BauMedien also added Schweizer Baublatt, the Austrian company Bau Data, as well as the specialist media services in the Czech Republic.
In 2009 DOCUgroup has taken over the febis Service GmbH, extended therewith its services by subsidy program information, and acquired the Reed Business Information (RBI) Nordic construction information businesses. With the acquired Reed Business Information operations DOCUgroup complemented its core business by project information in Sweden. From the other Scandinavian countries, Finland, Norway and Denmark, the entire business of construction product-, project information services and specialised magazines was taken over as a whole. Once again, DOCUgroup expanded and reinforced its international potential within the publishing, construction project and product information arena.
DOCUgroup intends to further develop its core area of expertise, construction industry information services, in order to broaden the range of the various cross-media and international marketing services within the group for its customers.

Europewide DOCUgroup has more than 1000 employees.
